What is Aikido?

A modern expression of Japanese martial arts, Aikido is a non-violent, non-competitive discipline aiming to achieve universal peace through mental, spiritual, and physical exercise.

The word "aikido" can be translated as the way (do) of harmony (ai) for the spirit (ki). Energy, vital power, and mind are alternative words used for "ki".
